DETAILS: On November 23, 2024, the Amarillo Police Department's Special Victims Unit (SVU) was contacted by Oklahoma Predator Prevention, a private organization dedicated to identifying online child predators. Utilizing information provided by this group, our detectives initiated an investigation into the activities of Michael Green, male, 41y/o, from South Amarillo.
As a result of this investigation, Green's cellphone was seized and subsequently underwent a forensic examination by the APD SVU Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Investigator. This examination revealed illegal Child Sexual Abuse Material involving minors. During multiple interviews, Green admitted to receiving and viewing this material, leading to his booking into the Randall County Detention Center on ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography involving more than 50 depictions or videos.
The Amarillo Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to the Oklahoma Predator Prevention Organization for their crucial role in this case, which allowed our detectives to take action and remove a potential predator from our community.
