Wilmington Police have arrested a woman on gun and drug charges.
On November 26, at approximately 7:05 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 900 block of West 8th Street when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Police conducted a vehicle stop at that location, and made contact with the driver – 31-year-old Tysheeka Johnson. Following a brief investigation, Johnson was taken into custody without incident, and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and .5 grams of crack cocaine.
Johnson has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $29,100 unsecured bail.
