ALERT: Today Deanwood and Kenilworth Centers will delay opening and all aquatics classes canceled due to boil water advisory. 
The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) would like to inform the community that the Deanwood Community and Aquatic Center and Kenilworth Recreation Centers will have delayed openings at 9:00 a.m. (instead of 6:00 a.m.) on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
These sites were closed Tuesday, December 3, due to a water outage in a large area in NE DC. Additionally, DC Water issued a boil water advisory in the impacted areas, which included these sites dcwater.com/bwaupdatene.
The following precautions will be implemented until the boil water advisory is lifted and water service is restored:
- All aquatic classes will be canceled at Deanwood through Friday, December 6, 2024 to ensure the safety of participants and staff
- DPR will place signage on all water sources and will have bottled water available at the impacted facilities.
DPR will follow up to inform the community when DC Water lifts the boil water advisory and when water service is restored.
