Please be advised that there will be a Holiday Car Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting this evening at the Monroe Twp. Community Center.

The car parade will meet at Veteran’s Park (#61 Avenue K) at 6:30pm and will be led by MTVFC#1 to the Community Center (#120 Monmouth Road) where the Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at approximately 7:00pm.

The car parade will travel through the Outcalt section of the Township, up Spotswood Englishtown Road past Suburban Plaza, through the Mill Lake section of the Township and down Monmouth Road to the Community Center. (Do not be alarmed if you see numerous emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens activated).

Monmouth Road will be closed to thru-traffic from approximately 7:00pm – 8:00pm between Cornell Ave. and Tenth Ave. Anyone attending the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Community Center can park in the Mill Lake School parking lot or on the surrounding side streets. (Please do not park on Monmouth Rd. between Cornell Ave. and Tenth Ave.)

Please also use caution on Monmouth Road due to pedestrians crossing the roadway in the area of the Community Center.
