Campbell PD Arrest Suspect Involved in Recent DUI Hit and Run
On November 27, Campbell officers responded to a DUI collision near Winchester and Camden, where the driver of a Toyota struck a vehicle stopped at a red light and then fled the scene.
Officers located the suspect at a nearby Safeway. Initially he provided false identification, but was later identified as 34-year-old Valencia Ceballos of Campbell. Further investigation revealed Ceballos had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants related to driving with a suspended license in Menlo Park and a prior DUI in San Jose.
A search of the vehicle at the scene of the collision uncovered multiple improvised weapons (including a machete and large knives), a baseball bat, empty CO2 cartridges, marijuana, and a Chucky mask.
Ceballos was arrested on charges of DUI causing injury, hit and run, providing false identification, operating a vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device (breathalyzer), and driving on a suspended license due to a prior DUI conviction.
This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers and consequences of impaired driving. Let’s work together to keep our roads safe.
