Tsunami and Emergency Preparedness Update
Earlier today, the Fremont Police Department issued an evacuation order as a result of a tsunami warning from the County and the California Office of Emergency Services.
Shortly after a public message was issued, we were informed that the tsunami warning had been canceled. Fremont Police will continue to monitor the situation and evacuations are not needed at this time.
During any emergency situation, there may be very limited time available for advance notice, and we appreciate the community’s response in acting swiftly to move into safety.
We would also like to remind our community that the Bay Area is subject to a number of natural disasters, and it’s essential to be prepared for such an emergency.
