Special Weather Statement until 04:30AM Friday

Plan on wind chill values from 10 above to 5 below zero through 7AM. Cold wind chills are expected across the mountains and foothills of southwest Virginia, northwest North Carolina, and southeast West Virginia. The coldest locations will be around Burkes Garden and Tazewell, Mountain Lake, Bent Mountain, and the higher elevations along the Blue Ridge. The cold wind chills may result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
