Incident Update: Email (Bomb) Threats Received by FUSD on December 6, 2024
Earlier today, the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) received an email describing the presence of explosive devices at Fremont schools as well as schools throughout the Bay Area. This threat appears to be similar to emails received in the past. The email was likely sent to multiple school districts throughout the region. Fremont Police investigators are working with our federal law enforcement partners, however at this point, we have no evidence supporting the presence of explosive devices at our schools. The FUSD is not planning to close or evacuate any schools at this time.
Our School Resource Officers (SROs) and Patrol personnel have been in constant communication with FUSD. Our SROs are conducting walk-throughs at several schools. Although we have found no evidence of explosive devices, in an abundance of caution, our Explosive Ordinance Detection (EOD) Canine (K9) is doing random sweeps of our schools, and our patrol officers will also conduct extra patrol checks throughout the day.
Fremont Police Department will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if significant changes in the status of the incident occur.
