| On December 5th, 2024, at approximately 8:03 PM, deputies from the East Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service reference an ambulance follow-up at the 400 block of Jeanne Court, in the unincorporated area known as Casa Conejo. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male juvenile victim in the residence who had suffered severe trauma from an assault. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and was subsequently pronounced deceased. Deputies on scene determined a homicide had occurred. Zuberi Sharp was identified as the suspect and was quickly taken into custody. Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrived on scene and assumed the subsequent investigation. The incident is currently under investigation as a homicide. An autopsy is pending, and the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death. Sharp was booked for Murder at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and is currently being held on a request of no bail. Sharp has a scheduled arraignment at the Ventura County Superior Court on 12/09/2024, at 1:30 PM. This is an active and ongoing homicide investigation.
