At approximately 6:50 a.m. this morning, deputies from Industry Sheriff’s Station responded to the 1100 block of 7th Avenue, Hacienda Heights, regarding a person with a gun. The location (formerly the Motel 6) is currently being renovated for temporary housing assistance. Upon arrival, deputies heard several gunshots coming from the area. During the investigation, they learned that an armed robbery had occurred at the location. A containment was immediately established of the surrounding area and additional resources (CHP, Aero, and SEB) were requested.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau responded and assisted with taking the suspect into custody without further incident.
A firearm was located.
There were no injuries to the public and/or deputy personnel. The surrounding area was subsequently declared safe at approximately 8:15 a.m.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Industry Station is actively investigating the incident with the assistance of Operation Safe Streets Bureau.
No booking photo will be released at this time due to an on-going investigation.
