Yorktown Police Department advises motorists that on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 5:30 pm, the Yorktown Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring the Annual Holiday Electric Lights Parade and Tree Lighting. The parade will begin on Front Street, near the Yorktown Highway Department, and will travel west on Underhill Avenue to the intersection with Commerce Street. The parade will continue on Commerce Street to Veterans Road, concluding with the tree lighting ceremony at the Jack DeVito Veterans Memorial Park (behind the Albert A. Capellini Community Cultural Center).
 
To provide for the safety of parade participants and spectators, the following roadways will be closed from approximately 5:30 pm until the conclusion of the parade.

1.  Front Street at Underhill Avenue 
2.  Moseman Rd. at Summit St.                                                        
3.  Commerce Street from Kear Street to Veterans Road 
4.  Veterans Road from Commerce Street to Maple Hill Street 
5.  Kear Street at Underhill Avenue   
6.  Downing Drive at Commerce Street 
7.  Hanover Street at Commerce Street 
8.  Maple Hill St. between Yorktown Post Office and Veterans Rd. 
9.  Underhill Ave at Route 118 (Saw Mill River Rd.)

Front Street will have extremely limited access from 3:00 pm until approximately 5:30 pm and will be closed for the duration of the parade.
