Deputy Alicia Lund with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Joshua Murphy Halstead, 37, of Marion with felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. He was given no bond due to already being out on bond for unrelated charges.
Lund also charged 20-year-old Furie Nikayla Benge of Marion with felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. She was given a secured bond in the amount of $5,000.
On December 1, Deputy Lund assisted in a traffic stop on Halstead and Benge with the N.C. Highway Patrol. Upon a search of the vehicle, suspected amounts of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were found.
