The Simi Valley Police Department is excited to share a new data feature called Smart911, available to assist our 9-1-1 dispatchers in providing enhanced emergency response. Residents can now download the Smart911 app on their computer or mobile device to share critical personal details that may save lives during emergencies.
What is Smart911?
Smart911, developed by Rave (a Motorola company), allows residents to create a secure profile with information such as:

• Name, date of birth, and contact details
• Home address and photos
• Medical information and conditions
• Vehicles and emergency contacts
• Children’s names and photos

This information is accessible to our dispatchers during emergencies through our “RapidDeploy” phone system. While data does not automatically populate on our system screens in California, dispatchers can manually retrieve it when deemed appropriate, such as in cases of:

• Domestic violence
• Suspicious circumstances
• Open 9-1-1 lines with concerning sounds
• Unknown problems requiring situational awareness

How it Works:

• Residents enter their information through the Smart911 app.
• During an active 9-1-1 call, dispatchers can now view these additional details by selecting an “Additional Data” tab within RapidDeploy and accessing the data through Smart911.
