Winter Weather Advisory until 08:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...In Virginia, Tazewell County. In West Virginia, Mercer, Summers, and Western Greenbrier Counties.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous, especially after sunset. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

* AFFECTED AREAS: TAZEWELL ... MERCER ... SUMMERS ... WESTERN GREENBRIER

Instructions:

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Plan on needing more layers of clothes to keep you warm this afternoon and tonight. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Be prepared for slippery roads. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
