Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the North Ward’s Holiday Parade of Lights and Tree Lighting Ceremony, on Friday, December 13, 2024.
 
12 p.m.
Elwood Avenue between Mt. Prospect Avenue and Summer Avenue
Woodside Avenue between Heller Parkway and Delevan Avenue
 
4 p.m.
Mt. Prospect Avenue between Abington Avenue and 2nd Avenue (southbound lane only)
 
4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Mt. Prospect Avenue between 2nd Avenue and Abington Avenue
Mt. Prospect Place between 2nd Avenue and Mt. Prospect Avenue
 
6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Parade)
Intermittent Street Closures will occur at Abington Avenue and Heller Parkway
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
