...WIDESPREAD FREEZING RAIN/DRIZZLE ACCUMULATIONS AND WINTRY PRECIPITATION CONTINUE TODAY... .Areas of freezing rain, mixed with sleet and snow at times, continue to advance through portions of east central Iowa and northern Iowa this afternoon. Additional ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch are possible, with lingering impacts into the afternoon while temperatures are still below freezing. A wintry mix, including some light snow, is expected over northern Iowa later today, but temperatures are warming sufficiently for a cold rain central and south this afternoon. As temperatures warm, areas of the ice storm warning and advisory will be updated accordingly.
* WHAT...Significant icing. Additional ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Jasper, Marshall, and Poweshiek Counties.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible.
