Winter Weather Advisory until 12:00PM Sunday
* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations up to a few hundredths will form a light glaze in the region.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Ohio.
* WHEN...From 4 AM to noon EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A band of precipitation will approach from the southwest during the pre-dawn hours of Sunday morning with brief snow changing over to rain. Cold air and sub-freezing surface temperatures in Northeast Ohio will be slow to depart ahead of this precipitation. Therefore, once snow transitions to rain in the region, rain may freeze to surfaces for an hour or two on Sunday morning, including on area roadways, bridges, sidewalks, and driveways, and slick conditions are expected. Temperatures will eventually push above freezing late Sunday morning and end the freezing rain and ice hazards.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CUYAHOGA ... LAKE ... GEAUGA ... ASHTABULA INLAND ... MEDINA ... SUMMIT ... PORTAGE ... TRUMBULL ... WAYNE ... STARK ... MAHONING ... ASHTABULA LAKESHORE
Instructions:
Slow down and use caution while traveling. The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit www.ohgo.com for the latest travel, roadway, and traffic conditions. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
