Emergency personnel and Public Works crews are responding to several storm related emergencies throughout the city of Novato. There are multiple areas of downed power lines causing outages, flooding, road closures due to downed trees, debris on the roadway, and traffic signal outages throughout the city. We advise our residents to STAY HOME & AVOID unnecessary travel at this time as the roadways are dangerous due to debris and fallen limbs.

ROAD CLOSURES:

• Simmons Lane from Benton Ln. & San Marin Dr. (trees down blocking roadway)
• Cypress (downed power lines)
• Armstrong & Cherry (creek overflowing)
• Marin Valley Dr (trees down blocking roadway)
• Posada del sol at Alameda del Prado (tree blocking eastbound lane)
• Lamont Ave (gas leak NFD on scene)
• Leveroni Ct. (tree down on light pole)
• Rica Vista (tree into house)

• Remain at home and avoid driving if possible.
• Keep away from downed or hanging power lines. Consider all downed lines to be energized.
• Avoid standing water. NEVER drive or walk in flooded areas.
• Keep away from emergency vehicles and take alternate roads.
• Stop at all intersections where the traffic lights or power is out. Treat these intersections as a 4 way stop.

• To report flooding or downed trees in Novato, please contact the City of Novato Public Works Department: 415-899-8280. 
• After hours, or if a downed tree is blocking the street, call NPD’s non-emergency line: 415-897-4361.
• Sandbags: pick up at 550 Davidson. Limit 10/household. Bring your own shovel & gloves. More info: novato.org/sandbags

• Downed Power Lines: If you see downed powerlines, stay away. Don't exit your car or home. Call 9-1-1. Then call PG&E at 1-877-660-6789.
• Power Outages: If there is a power outage, visit the Outage Map: pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outage-tools/outage-map/ for more information. If a traffic signal is out, treat like a 4-way STOP.
