Adelanto Man Arrested After Recklessly Driving Through a Crowd of Kids and Evading Deputies on an Off-Road Vehicle

VC 23103(A): RECKLESS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY
LOCATION: Mojave Street/ Alexandria Street, County area of Adelanto
SUSPECT: Jacob Vidana-Delgado, 19 years of age, resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY: On Friday, December 13, 2024, at 5:33 p.m., Deputy M. Lewis observed a blue Polaris race through a crowded intersection full of children at a high rate of speed.
Deputy Lewis attempted to stop the driver, later identified as Jacob Vidana-Delgado, but he refused to yield. Vidana-Delgado accelerated, driving at unsafe speeds with disregard for public safety, and failing to stop at controlled intersections.
In the interest of public safety, Deputy Lewis terminated the vehicle pursuit. The California Highway Patrol Aviation Division (H80) continued to follow Vidana-Delgado to his residence where deputies arrested him for evading a peace officer with disregard for public safety and reckless driving on a highway. The Polaris was towed from the residence.
