SUMMARY: On Friday, December 13, 2024, at around 11:30 a.m., three suspects arrived at a home in the 6000 block of Amora Drive in Chino Hills. They wore ski masks and clothing to conceal their identity. They attempted to burglarize a residence but were confronted by the homeowner and fled.

Deputies investigated and developed actionable leads. Deputies learned the suspects were responsible for burglaries in San Bernardino County earlier in the day. Chino Hills detectives requested the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to search for the vehicle in their jurisdiction. LAPD found the suspect vehicle, and all three suspects were arrested after a vehicle and foot pursuit.

Chino Hills and Central Station detectives responded to Los Angeles and served a search warrant on the suspect's vehicle. A firearm stolen during a residential burglary was recovered. All three suspects were transported to the Chino Hills Station for interviews.

The suspects, Jerome Pennington, Kwan Smith, and Kenny Warren, were all parolees and career criminals. They were booked at West Valley Detention Center for multiple felonies. The investigation is continuing to identify other burglaries committed by these suspects.
