Nine Cited at Newark DUI/DL Checkpoint 
Newark, CA – On December 13, 2024, nine citations were issued to drivers for either driving without a license or for driving with a suspended or revoked license.
The DUI checkpoint was held near the intersection of Newark Boulevard and Jarvis Avenue from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
The next DUI checkpoint will be held during the National Summer DUI Mobilization in late 2025.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
