The male victim, 31, was in the area when he heard several gunshots and realized he was hit. The victim went to an area hospital to seek treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries. There is no suspect information.
2. Battery on an Officer (2100) 2100 Block of East Washington Street, Park District
Officers responded to the area on a reported disturbance and took the suspect into custody for battery. The suspect spat at both officers as she was being placed in a patrol vehicle. ARRESTED: Christina Ruiz, 26, for battery and battery on an officer.
