OPD Seeks Assistance in a September 2024 Homicide
Today, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Homicide Section is seeking the community’s assistance in solving the homicide of Tony Miller that occurred on September 28, 2024, at DeFremery Park during the annual McClymonds High School Alumni Picnic.

BACKGROUND:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on September 28, 2024, in the 1600 block of Adeline Street, just after 7:30 PM. Officers responded to the area to investigate a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, they located a victim who sustained a gunshot wound(s). Paramedic personnel responded to the scene to assist and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Investigators from the OPD Homicide Section responded to the scene to begin the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
