Anonymous Tip Leads to the Arrest of High School Student who was in Possession of Weapon on School Grounds

LOCATION: 31000 E. Colton Avenue, Redlands, CA 92374
SUSPECT(S): Christopher Oberhelman, 18-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On December 17, 2024, an anonymous reporting party advised a student at Redlands East Valley High School (REV), identified as 18-year-old Christopher Oberhelman, brandished a handgun in the parking lot. The gun was described as a silver and black revolver.
School Resource Officer B. Fite contacted Oberhelman on campus and began an investigation. A search of Oberhelman's vehicle was conducted and a replica of a silver and black .357 revolver, a replica of a tan and black 1911 Sig Sauer handgun, and an Elk Ridge knife approximatley 10 inches in length were located inside the vehicle. Both handguns were determined to be air guns.
Oberhelman was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for PC 626.10 (A)(1)- Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds.
