Gloucester Township Police Media Release- House Fire Displaces Resident On Lincoln Drive
On Tuesday, December 17th, at approximately 1630 hours, Gloucester Township Police Department responded to 95 Lincoln Drive, located in the Laurel Springs section of Gloucester Township for a washing machine on fire. Arriving officers located the lone occupant from the dwelling, whom was immediately evacuated due to officers observing a fully engulfed washing machine, on the lower level of the residence.
Chews Landing, Blackwood and Pine Hill Fire Departments responded to the call. The fire companies successfully brought the fire under control. Assistance was also provided by Inspira BLS and the Gloucester Township Office of Emergency Management.
The lone occupant of the home reported no injuries and was not displaced from their residence, as result of the fire. The incident does not appear to be suspicious at this time, and it is being investigated by the Fire Marshall from the Chews Landing Fire Department (Station 82).
This is a reminder to check your fire alert and suppression systems to ensure that they are operational. Smoke alarms are a key part of any fire escape plan. When there is smoke, there is fire which can spread quickly. Working smoke alarms give you early warning, so you can get outside quickly.
