Male juvenile arrested for posting bomb threat on social media.

Bomb Threat
 
On December 17, 2024, at 8:30 PM, the Janesville Police Department received information from the Wisconsin Statewide Intelligence Center regarding a bomb threat posted on Snapchat by a fifteen-year-old Janesville resident. Shortly after midnight, the juvenile male was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Youth Services Center on charges of making terrorist threats. The juvenile's home was searched, and no concerning materials were found.
 
The bomb threat was vague, referencing a residence as the intended target. The investigation is ongoing; however, there are no known threats to the community at this time.
 
We want to remind our community of the importance of using social media responsibly and reporting any threatening or concerning behavior to the Janesville Police Department.
