Chino Hills Man Arrested on Several Charges after Vandalizing Multiple Vehicles

SUSPECT(S): Michael Rey Thomas, a 38-year-old resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM(S): Confidential (Multiple)
SUMMARY: Chino Hills deputies recently responded to multiple reports of vehicles being vandalized at a Chino Hills apartment complex. Deputies collected evidence and developed investigative leads during their investigations. The vandalized cars were scratched by an object; tires were punctured, spray paint was affixed to the exterior, or bodily fluids were poured onto the victim vehicles.
The investigation was assigned to the Chino Hills Multiple Enforcement Team (MET). Through investigation, the suspect, Michael Rey Thomas, was identified. Deputies obtained a warrant for Thomas' arrest and a search warrant for his residence.
On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, MET contacted and arrested Thomas. Evidence of the vandalism incidents was found during the search warrant service. Thomas was booked at West Valley Detention Center for vandalism, committing a hate crime, and vehicle tampering.
