Permits are required for all alarms in Fairview that summon police or other emergency services. This includes unmonitored alarms that emit an audible signal that can be heard outside the structure.
Alarm permits must be renewed by Jan. 31 every year.
The residential permit fee is $50. The commercial permit fee is $100.
Late fees of 25 percent are assessed after Jan. 31, and alarms without a valid permit may result in a fine of up to $250 plus court costs per offense.
