Six Drivers Cited at Simi Valley DUI Checkpoint

Simi Valley, Calif. – On December 13, 2024, six drivers were cited for different California Vehicle Code violations at a DUI checkpoint.
 
The DUI checkpoint was held on Madera Road at Strathearn Place from 7:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
 
Four drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, one driver was cited for failing to obey a traffic control signal or sign, and one driver was cited for making a turn from an improper position. A total of 735 vehicles were contacted.
 
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
 
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
