Update: Lane and interchange closure on I-680N near Mission; expect delays in the area

The I-680 repair work has been completed and traffic lane closures have been removed on I-680 and at the 680/Mission interchange.
Update on 12/18/24 as of 3:20 p.m.:
Caltrans is making an emergency repair to a hole in the northbound I-680 bridge structure located at the bridge crossing of Mission Blvd (north). Currently, only one center lane on I-680N is open to traffic and the Mission North interchange is closed. CHP has reported an estimated opening time of 1:00 AM on Thursday (12/19). Traffic congestion in Fremont is occurring near I-680 along the interchanges at Washington Blvd, Paseo Padre Parkway, and along much of Mission Blvd. Regional traffic is diverting to Niles Canyon Road and further north via I-880 to I-238 and I-580 in the Hayward area. Please expect traffic delays and use alternate routes.

Please note the center lanes on I-680 North near Mission Blvd, specifically north of via San Gabriel, are closed until further notice. CalTrans is repairing a pothole. Please expect delays in the area, including near the on-ramps and on Mission Blvd. Use alternate routes when possible.
