OPD “Motor Santa” Spreads Joy Throughout Oakland
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) Traffic Section held its “Motor Santa” operation on December 17 & 18, 2024. For nearly 20 years, this OPD Traffic Section tradition has featured an OPD motor officer dressed as Santa, accompanied by several other motor officers who ride their motorcycles throughout the City of Oakland passing out toys to the children they encounter along the way.
The OPD Traffic Section gave away several hundreds of toys this year thanks in part to the generous donations from the Oakland Police Foundation and longtime business owner Bruce Voung of Quality Tech in Oakland.
The OPD “Motor Santa” operation exemplifies OPD's commitment to fostering positive relationships within the community and spreading holiday joy.
