...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL LIKELY FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL INTO SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND WESTERN WISCONSIN... .A well-organized winter storm will bring widespread accumulating snow to the region through this evening. A band of 4 to 7 inches of snow is expected to fall near and north of a line from Montevideo MN through the Twin Cities metro to Eau Claire WI. Lesser snowfall amounts will occur to the south of that line. Strong winds will also cause blowing snow and potentially reduced visibilities, especially across western and southwestern Minnesota.
* WHAT...Snow. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Blowing snow may continue to reduce visibility after the accumulating snow has ended Thursday afternoon and evening.
* WHERE...Blue Earth, Brown, Steele, Waseca, Watonwan, and Redwood Counties.
* WHEN...Until 3 AM CST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
