Newark, California (Friday, December 20, 2024)

On Friday, December 20, 2024, at approximately 4:50 a.m., Newark Police officers responded to a residence on the 6000 block of Noel Avenue following reports of gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. Vehicles in the vicinity had also been struck by gunfire.

Officers immediately provided medical assistance until Alameda County Fire personnel arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Newark Police Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further details are available at this time.
