1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest (Delayed) 600 Block of North Sutter Street, Civic District
The female, 47, and 10-year-old female victims reported that on 12/20/24, the suspect slashed at the adult victim, and the juvenile was cut in the arm with a sharp object. Today, the suspect was confronted by the victim's son, 25, and the suspect cut him on the left hand with a sharp object. All injuries were non-life threatening, and the victims declined medical attention. Officers located the suspect and arrested him without incident. ARRESTED: Cedric Hall, 40, for assault with a deadly weapon.
2. Homicide (0936) 200 Block of Carson Place, Valley Oak District
Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male and located the male victim, 41, with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives were notified and responded to assist with the investigation. There is no suspect information.
