Running Springs Man Arrested After Threatening Victim with a Firearm During an Argument
DATE/TIME: December 22, 2024, approximately 7:15pm
INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Threats, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm
LOCATION: 31000 Block of Firwood Dr., Running Springs
SUSPECT(S): Robert Frank Carlson, 52-year-old resident of Running Springs
VICTIM(S): Confidential, Adult Female
SUMMARY: On Sunday, December 22, 2024, deputies from the Twin Peaks Station responded to a report of an adult male suspect who pointed a handgun at a female adult victim during an argument. The suspect was positively identified as Robert Frank Carlson. Upon initial contact, Carlson sequestered himself inside his residence and refused to come out. After approximately 30 minutes of negotiating with Carlson, he exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
A search warrant was served at Carlson's residence. Twelve firearms, including a loaded handgun believed to have been used in the crime, two confirmed stolen firearms and an unserialized AR-15, were seized.
Carlson was arrested for PC 245(a)(2) – Assualt with a Deadly Weapon, PC 422 - Criminal Threats, PC 24610 - Possession of an Unserialized Firearm and PC 25850 - Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He was booked at Central Detention Center in lieu of $140,000.00 bail.
