Emergency Snow Parking Bans - It's the Law
Whenever there is snow fall of three (3) inches or more within a twenty-four (24) hour period, the emergency snow ban takes effect (NO Parking). When the emergency snow ban is in effect, parking is not permitted on our streets. Please help the Twp. of Washington clear the streets by removing your vehicles from the street during these snow emergencies.
Remember To Shovel Your Sidewalks - It's the law
Township Codified Ordinance requires every property owner to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks within 12 hours of the end of a snowstorm. Twp. ordinance also prohibits snow from being shoveled out into the roadway. DO NOT shovel / plow into the street.
Help the WTFD Dig Out Fire Hydrants - It's the law
Township Codified Ordinance requires every property owner / tenant etc. on which a hydrant is located to remove snow and ice from around fire hydrants within 24 hours of the end of a snowstorm. The Township requires if you do have a fire hydrant on your property, you dig a three foot circle around it and a path to the street, to help give the Fire Department easier access in case of an emergency.
