Hackettstown Announces New Emergency Alert System
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – The Town of Hackettstown is excited to announce the launch of the CivicReady Mass Notification System, which is now available to all residents. This system will replace the current Everbridge/Nixle System, which will be discontinued on January 1, 2025.
CivicReady is a free service that allows residents to receive important notifications from local authorities regarding weather, traffic, and other emergency or non-emergency situations. The system enables local
officials to send urgent alerts, emergency instructions, warnings, and routine communications to subscribed residents via email, text message, and voicemail, ensuring that the community stays
informed and safe.
“In times of emergency or uncertainty, it’s essential for our residents and visitors to have immediate access to accurate and timely information,” said Hackettstown Public Information Officer Darren Tynan. “The CivicReady system will empower us to communicate more effectively and keep everyone informed, whether it;s about severe weather, traffic incidents, or community updates. We encourage all residents to sign up to ensure they receive these critical notifications.”
“CivicPlus is built on designing innovative solutions for local governments,” said Cari Tate, CivicPlus Solutions Director. “We continually invest in our products, such as our Mass Notification software, to strengthen and transform how governments serve and communicate with their residents. We are proud to partner with Hackettstown to help them accomplish their public safety goals.”
In the event of a local emergency, those subscribed to CivicReady will receive immediate, actionable information and instructions through their preferred notification method.
Residents who were previously signed up for the Everbridge/Nixle System must re-enroll in CivicReady to continue receiving notifications.
