Suspect Sought in Christmas Eve Theft and Vehicle Burglary Incident at Walmart
Meridian, ID – December 26, 2024 – The Meridian Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in two related theft incidents that occurred on Christmas Eve.
The suspect, described as a male in his 40s to 50s with a dark mustache, wearing a black vest, gray shirt, and gray beanie, first entered the Walmart Supercenter on Fairview and stole an item. After leaving Walmart, he drove across the street in a Chevrolet truck, believed to be a 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and observed a female victim leaving her vehicle in the Sportsman’s Warehouse parking lot.
As the victim entered the store, the suspect parked next to her vehicle, exited his truck, and broke into her car, stealing several items. The total value of the items stolen from both incidents is estimated at approximately $400. The suspect left the scene shortly before the female victim returned to her car.
The bold and deliberate nature of the suspect’s behavior is concerning, as it appears he was watching the victim before committing the break-in.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or the truck or has any information about the incident is encouraged to contact Officer LeFave at Clefave@meridiancity.org.
The Meridian Police Department is urging citizens to remain extra vigilant while shopping and to be aware of their surroundings.
