INCIDENT: PC 664/187(a) – Attempted Murder
LOCATION: Stater Brothers Market, 21602 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: William Timoteo Moller, 37-year-old male of Apple Valley
VICTIM: 37-year-old male of Apple Valley
6-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Thursday, December 26, 2004, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dispatch received several calls, reporting a verbal altercation at Stater Brothers Markets on Navajo Road and Bear Valley Road, in the town of Apple Valley. Deputies from Apple Valley Police were dispatched immediately and arrived on scene at approximately 1:50 p.m.
While deputies were responding, dispatch continued to obtain information regarding the incident and learned a subject had fired a handgun at another person inside the store. Store employees were attempting to evacuate the business while deputies were responding.
Deputy K. Mullins arrived on scene and quickly detained the subjects involved in the altercation, along with the handgun. All subjects involved were cooperative with law enforcement personnel. The investigation revealed the suspect, William Timoteo Moller, and the 37-year-old victim were arguing inside the store when the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired one round. Fortunately, no one was hit by gunfire and there were no physical injuries.
William Timoteo Moller was arrested and booked into High Desert Detention Center on charges of attempted murder, where he is being held in lieu of $2,000,000.
