Corte Madera, CA –December 20, 2024:  

On the evening of December 20th, 2024, around 6:30PM, Central Marin Police Authority patrol officers responded to a report of an in-progress retail theft at the Corte Madera Town Center.  A store employee saw four individuals clearing out shelves of merchandise, filling the large bags they brought into the store with fragrance and cosmetic products.  Officers were in the area when the call came out and located the suspect vehicle traveling out of the shopping center.  The thieves had ordered an Uber as their get-away car and were driving north on to Highway 101 when they were stopped by police.  Officers located the stolen merchandise, and four female juveniles were positively identified as the organized retail thieves.     

After further investigation, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest the four female juveniles for organized retail theft.  The juveniles reside in Oakland, three being 15 years old and the fourth 13.  The value of the recovered stolen property totaled approximately $7,500.  The four female juveniles were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall for their crimes, and parents/guardians were contacted during this process.
