Fire Weather Watch until 06:00PM Monday
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT MONDAY AFTERNOON FROM 9AM TO 6PM FOR THE NORTHEAST AND EAST-CENTRAL PLAINS DUE TO LOW HUMIDITY, VERY STRONG WINDS, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .Strong west to northwest winds associated with a weather system passing over the NM/CO border will bring in drier air and well above normal temperatures to areas along and east of the central mountain chain Monday morning through Monday afternoon. The combination of strong winds and humidity falling below 15 percent will converge through the Northeast and East-Central Plains. The resulting critical fire weather will increase the risk of rapid fire spread in these areas. Winds will diminish by Monday evening. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire Weather Watch...which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday afternoon.
* AREA AND TIMING...This includes the Northeast Plains (Zone 104) and the East-Central Plains (Zone 126) Monday morning through Monday afternoon.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West-northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 35 to 55 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 10 and 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PLAINS ... EAST CENTRAL PLAINS
