Special Weather Statement until 04:00AM Sunday
A low pressure system crossing Indiana late tonight through Sunday afternoon is expected to bring rain and windy conditions to the area. Conditions will quickly deteriorate prior to sunrise, with rain falling heavy at times. Total rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected for areas around and east of I-57 through the morning, resulting in ponding on roadways and poor visibility. Rises in creeks and streams are also expected. Additionally, a period of strong north or northeast winds with gusts over 40 mph is possible from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. If commuting or traveling late tonight into Sunday afternoon, plan for slowed travel. The gusty winds can also make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on west to east roads.
