A stray cat in the area of Rhoads Drive (Pike Run) has tested positive for rabies as of 12/26/2024. Rabies is a serious disease that can affect both animals and humans.
Residents are urged to avoid contact with stray or unfamiliar animals, especially those that appear sick or injured. Parents should remind children not to pet or handle stray animals. If you or your child may have been exposed to this stray cat or any other potentially rabid animal, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
If you encounter an animal that appears unwell or behaves unusually, please report it to Animal Control at (908) 722-1271.
