Winter Weather Event

The NWS is predicting a Winter Storm starting Saturday evening and lasting through Sunday night.  This will be followed by extremely cold temperatures throughout next week.  Cooper County currently is predicted to see the precipitation start Saturday night.  There is uncertainty in the storms track currently.  The precipitation could be in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet or snow when it begins. This will change to all snow as the temperature falls.  Current prediction is for between 4"-8" of snow, however this may change as the storm gets closer.  This will be followed by extremely cold temperatures next week with lows around 0F.  Expect travel issues. This storm could cause power outages.   

Prepare Now:  Adjust travel plans for this weekend.  If you have to travel on the roads, expect delays.  Prepare your vehicle for delays and make sure you have an emergency kit to include, blankets, daily medication, food and water.  Be prepared to stay home for several days.  Have plenty of food and water.
