SUMMARY: In December, 2024, Big Bear Lake Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) deputies received numerous complaints of advertisements posted throughout Big Bear Lake of psilocybin mushrooms for sale. Deputies conducted a narcotic investigation and identified the source of the psilocybin mushrooms having came from San Diego, CA. Deputies authored a search warrant and it was approved.
On December 31, 2024, deputies served the search warrant in the 7900 block of Engineer Road, San Diego. Deputies located approximately 15 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 185 pounds of psilocybin products consisting of gummies, chocolates, and capsules, large amount of US currency, and items indicative of narcotic sales. The total street value of psilocybin mushrooms and psilocybin products was estimated at $200,000. This investigation is ongoing.
