Ventura County Sheriff’s Emergency Services and the City of Camarillo will host an informational town hall on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Rancho Campana High School Performing Arts Center to discuss impacts from the Mountain Fire. Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell and City of Camarillo Mayor Kevin Kildee, along with representatives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura County’s Public Works Agency, and the City of Camarillo will present on a range of topics, including the potential for post-fire debris flow, emergency response plans and winter preparedness resources. The Mountain Fire started on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 8:51 a.m. in the Somis area near Balcom Canyon Road and Bradley Road. Over the course of several days, the fire burned 19,904 acres and destroyed 182 residential structures. The town hall meeting is open to all members of the public who wish to attend. Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available onsite. Additional accessibility needs may be communicated by emailing [email protected] at least 72 hours prior to the start of the event.
