Winter Storm Warning until 12:00PM

...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE ACROSS THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE... .For Yakutat, snow showers over the area are expected to continue through the night with very dry and fluffy snow. Said snow is expected to accumulate quickly. For the winter storm watches, a warm front is expected to move northward Saturday night, bringing snow for Juneau and Gustavus and up to the Klondike and Haines Highway. Warming temperatures will push northward Sunday through Monday causing a change to rain. A separate front will bring heavy rain and upper elevation snow to the region Monday night through Tuesday.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Approximately 4 inches has fallen. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches is expected.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Yakutat.

* WHEN...Until noon AKST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall is expected to be currently occurring and will taper off in the morning hours. A defined break Saturday afternoon is expected before additional snow moves into the area. Snow characteristic is expected to be dry and fluffy.
