...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CST SUNDAY...
...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM SUNDAY TO 3 AM CST MONDAY...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy mixed precipitation.  Additional snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice  accumulations around a light glaze. 
For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 8 and 12 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...In Kansas, Johnson KS and Wyandotte Counties. In Missouri, Saline, Jackson, and Lafayette Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 3 AM CST Sunday. For
  the Blizzard Warning, from 3 AM Sunday to 3 AM CST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.



Instructions:

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

The latest road conditions in Kansas can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 and in Missouri by visiting traveler.modot.org.

If you must travel, keep a charged cell phone, an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Addditional blizzard warnnings are in effect for numerous counties in eastern Kansas and northern Missouri.

All roads are currently ice covered and travel should be avoided.
