Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Gloucester Township Police Assist Fire Department in Water Rescue
On 01/05/25 at 1:45 PM, Gloucester Township Police units and Fire Personnel were dispatched to Timber Creek Dog Park located at 1701 Chews Landing Road in Blackwood, NJ 08012 in reference to a female and two dogs who were trapped in the partially frozen Timber Creek. A swift and coordinated response by emergency personnel resulted in the successful rescue of the female and her two pets. Responders quickly assessed the situation and deployed specialized equipment to rescue the individual who was approximately 35 feet from the shoreline and partially submerged in freezing water. Medical treatment was initiated at the scene and the individual was transported to Cooper Hospital.
Fire Departments from Chews Landing, Blackwood, Blenheim, and Bellmawr responded to the scene along with Camden County Search and Rescue, Inspira EMS, and Virtua ALS. The Gloucester Township Police Department reminds everyone to exercise extreme caution near frozen bodies of water, as changing temperatures can create unpredictable and unsafe ice conditions.
