The National Weather Service, Los Angeles, has issued a Red Flag and High Wind Warning.
Strong winds are currently impacting the eastern San Gabriel Mountains and the foothill communities above the 210 Freeway. Sustained winds are expected to range from 35 to 55 mph, with localized gusts exceeding 80 mph. The period of concern is from the afternoon of Tuesday, January 7 through the afternoon of Wednesday, January 8.
Given the direction of the winds, Duarte’s wind report is currently indicating wind speeds around 20-30 mph.
